Ric Orlando is a chef and activist working in the Hudson Valley of New York. He directs the Capital Region's award winning New World Bistro Bar.  He has claimed victories on TWO Food Network Series: Beat Bobby Flay & twice on Chopped. He been people's choice winner Best Chef from both Albany Times Union (2015, 16 & 17) and Hudson Valley Magazine (2014, 15 & 17)

Ric brings an inspired blend of lust for life, outspoken passion for the flavors and ingredients of the world community, and nationally renowned cooking prowess to his roles as chef, lecturer, author, and media source. Itinerary

October 28 - Flight from Albany to New Orleans. Private Transfer from Airport to Hotel. Check-in for 4 Nights at Hotel Monteleone w/ daily breakfast. Group Welcome Dinner: Location TBD.  (D)

 

October 29 - Today, visit SoFAB, the Southern Food & Beverage museum with a culinary demo! We'll enjoy lunch at Toups South. After lunch we'll head to Mardi Gras World to learn all the behind-the-scenes fun that creates festivities of Mardi Gras. Afternoon at leisure, dinner on own. (B, L)

 

October 30 - This morning we'll enjoy the Garden District & Cemetery Tour. Today's lunch will be at Commander's Palace. Afternoon at leisure. Tonight we'll walk to our dinner arrangement at NOLA by Emeril Lagasse. (B, L, D)

 

October 31 - After a leisurely morning, we'll head over to the Crescent City Farmer's Market with Ric to see how he chooses the ingredients for his delicious creations. After the farmer's market, we'll head to Tujague's to meet with Poppy Tooker while enjoying refreshments; then it's on to the Walking Tour of the 'Ghostly' French Quarter, with history & cemetery included. Enjoy dinner on your own. After dinner, we'll meet to enjoy Halloween night festivities at the Frenchman Halloween Festival! (B) 

 

November 1 - Our journey comes to an end today, but not until we have our Farewell Bananas Foster & Champagne Brunch at Brennan's! After brunch we'll have a private transfer from hotel to the airport for our flight home! (B, Br)
