Ric Orlando is a chef and activist working in the Hudson Valley of New York. He directs the Capital Region's award winning New World Bistro Bar. He has claimed victories on TWO Food Network Series: Beat Bobby Flay & twice on Chopped. He been people's choice winner Best Chef from both Albany Times Union (2015, 16 & 17) and Hudson Valley Magazine (2014, 15 & 17)

November 2 - Flight from Newark to San Francisco. Private Transfer from Airport to Hotel in San Francisco.
Check in for 1 Night at the Westin St. Francis Union Square.
Afternoon free to explore the city. Group Welcome Dinner TBD. (D)
November 3 - Today, we head into wine country! Our first stop will be the Kunde Family Winery where we will be treated to a tour of their caves & vineyards and end with a wine tasting & buffet lunch in the vineyard!
After lunch, we will head to Sonoma and check in for 5 Nights at The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa .
The rest of the afternoon and dinner are at Leisure. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the Plaza offering many restaurants & tasting rooms. (L)
November 4 - This morning we'll travel to Benziger Family Winery for a tour of their beautiful vineyard & an introduction to Biodynamic wine production. We will have a chance to sample their wines as well.
Next we will visit the Hamel Family Vineyard. We'll learn about making wine as a family and organic growing, then sample a few of their family wines.
We'll head back to Sonoma and meet up for a group dinner at The Girl & Fig Restaurant. (D)
November 5 - This morning we'll head over to Napa for the day.
We'll start with a visit to the Culinary Institute of America at Copia for a tour of the campus followed by a cooking demonstration, tasting and wine pairing.
Then we'll visit the Oxbow Market and enjoy lunch at the Kitchen Door Restaurant.
We'll have free time to wander around Napa and enjoy the city before heading back to Sonoma.
This evening we'll enjoy dinner at El Molino. (L, D)
November 6 - This morning will be at leisure to enjoy the resort grounds and town of Sonoma.
After having visited several wineries, let's switch it up and head to a local brewery this afternoon! We'll learn about the brewmaster's techniques and sample some of their best brews.
The evening we'll head to the Ramekins Culinary School for a cooking class with Chef Ric & the local chef & their team. We'll be creating our evening meal together, which we'll enjoy afterwards. (D)
November 7 - Today we'll head to St. Helena in Napa with a stop at the Inglenook/Coppla Estate to enjoy the beauty.
After free time for lunch on your own in St. Helena, we'll drive west back to northern Sonoma to the Dutton Estate Winery for a visit, tour & tasting.
Then we will head to the Glen Ellen Star Restaurant for a private dinner before going back to our hotel for the evening. (D)
November 8- After check out this morning, we will head back to San Francisco for our last night in California.
Chef Ric will give us a tour of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and then you'll have an afternoon to enjoy San Francisco at leisure...... you might visit Fisherman's Wharf, ride the Trolley, see the Trolley Museum, walk through Chinatown, enjoy shopping etc.
We will meet back together for an early group dinner TBD and then be transferred to the Westin Airport Hotel to be prepared for our early flight tomorrow. (D)
November 9- We will catch an early hotel airport shuttle to the airport for our flight back to Newark.
