When I was a college student, I took a creative writing course in my freshman year and I loved it, for a few reasons. First reason was that the professor was a really cute young guy with an Irish name that totally escapes me now, but he kept my attention simply by speaking. Aaahhh, to be a college freshman again. Second, and probably just as important, was that I was an accounting major and this class was my only CREATIVE outlet. I loved creating scenarios and characters and telling stories. Unfortunately, I haven’t really had time to do any of that since college.
Now, here I am, a FEW years later and I’m starting a blog for my travel business. I am so excited to have a place to share some of my travel experiences and stories, and maybe to tell a few tales from a traveler’s perspective.
My intent with this blog is to inform folks about where I’ve been and what I’ve seen, to talk about places that might be interesting to others to visit and to post information that can be useful to anyone looking for vacation ideas. It’s a place for people to read firsthand accounts of travel experiences, professional reviews of destinations and travel trends and possibly post their own experiences in response.
I have been in the travel industry for six years, booking mostly personal vacations and group trips, and I love what I do. When I’m not traveling myself, my job makes me feel like I am. Every trip I book for a client becomes my own personal journey of research and learning and sharing that information. Every group I deal with become like my children, with the same concerns for their safety, comfort and happiness.
I hope this blog conveys the passion that I have for travel and my career. I’m really looking forward to my first travel adventure blog this month, when I travel to France to take a river barge cruise on the Seine. Stay tuned for the next update…
